Rory Keene and Josh Normanton succeeded in the defence of a licensed accountant who was accused of fraudulent trading connected with the business activities of her accountancy firm.

The alleged fraudulent activity related both to fraudulent misrepresentations to trainees of the firm and the firm’s conduct with respect to its accountancy clients. Their client who was prosecuted by City of London Trading Standards was acquitted on all counts. She was tried alongside another director who was convicted. The trial lasted 4 weeks before HHJ Hillen QC at Prospero House (the “nightingale court” at Southwark Crown Court).
