Drug dealer convicted for possession of loaded revolver with intent to endanger life
A 21-year old from Clapham has been convicted of possession of a loaded revolver with intent to endanger life and possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
When the defendant’s vehicle was stopped near Earls Court he was wearing gloves and had a loaded revolver and balaclava close to hand. He had previously been stopped in the same vehicle in possession of cocaine, MDMA and a mobile telephone containing ‘drill’ lyrics glorifying the use of firearms.
A shotgun was discharged through the defendant’s front door whilst he was on remand. At trial he claimed that he had been placed under duress by the same people who were responsible for the shotgun incident.
The jury rejected this account and convicted him on all counts. He received a total sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment.
The case was prosecuted by Michael Attenborough.
