Successful prosecution of Brianna Ghey’s killers.
Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe have been sentenced for the murder of Brianna Ghey. Deanna Heer KC led the case for the prosecution together with Cheryl Mottram.
In televised sentencing remarks the trial judge concluded that the defendants, who were just 15 years of age at the time of the killing, had carried out a brutal and planned murder which was sadistic in nature and where a secondary motive was hostility towards Brianna because of her transgender identity. The case has been widely publicised.
