Ex-High Court judge's widow cleared of sex abuse

Lady Lavinia Nourse is the widow of Sir Martin Nourse. She was acquitted at a Nightingale Court sitting in Peterborough Cathedral of 17 counts of sexual abuse on a boy.

She was supported in her defence by character witnesses who included Dame Mary Archer, Sir Malcolm Rifkind, Michael Mates and Simon Heffer. Junior counsel was Ben Newton from Doughty Street and Sandra Paul at Kingsley Napley was the Instructing Solicitor.
