The modern murder, in its many shapes and forms, presents the advocate with formidable challenges, requiring a grasp of medical, scientific and technical evidence, derived from an ever increasing range of disciplines and specialisms, and a subtle understanding of the psychology of the modern jury.
Our silks, and specialist juniors have a length of experience both as prosecutors and defenders. This experience ranges from dealing with “mercy killings” through to gangland executions, domestic killings, infanticide (including allegations of baby shaking), killings by children and corporate and medical profession manslaughters. Members of chambers successfully defended in the first case of corporate manslaughter.
We are proud of our longstanding reputation in this field, which we expect to sustain in the coming decade.
