Teresa Hay

A new exhibition in Middle Temple hall featuring scholars from the history of the Inn, including Teresa Hay.

Teresa says:

I am honoured and delighted to be included in this exhibition which showcases the achievements and diversity of Middle Temple scholars over the years. This is probably the only time I will find myself located between Lord Justice Leveson and Lord Diplock, and given equal billing!

As the poster explains being awarded a scholarship had a significant impact on my journey to the Bar and seeing and reading about my fellow scholars in the exhibition is both inspiring and humbling. I would encourage any prospective barristers to apply regardless of means, as the label “Scholar” is one to be proud of.

The exhibition also demonstrates that successful barristers have all sorts of backgrounds and life experiences which they bring to the role, making ours a profession which can reflect wider society in a positive way. I continue to be involved in the interviewing of scholarship applicants and the making of awards and wholeheartedly enjoy giving worthwhile candidates a well-deserved badge of recognition and promise.
