Miranda Moore KC and Charlene Sumnall secure convictions for Murder, Rape and Perverting the Course of Public Justice
Miranda Moore KC and Charlene Sumnall instructed by East Midlands Complex Case Unit following a trial lasting 6 weeks, secured convictions against Michael Thompson for the Murder and Rape of his estranged wife Kim Bounds.
The defendant raped and murdered Kim and then set about staging the scene to make it look like an accidental overdose or suicide.
The Court heard evidence that Kim had been the victim of years of physical and sexual abuse as well as coercive and controlling behaviour.
Thompson will be sentenced on the 14th July 2026.
