Harrie Austin-Jones successfully defends in sexual assault case.

Harrie Austin-Jones, instructed by Andrew Stewart of Hine Solicitors, successfully represented a 35-year-old man accused of two allegations of sexual assault. The Defendant remains a soldier in the armed forces.

The allegations were that the defendant had inappropriately touched the complainant in a night club on two occasions during the night. 

Harrie represented the Defendant at Court Martial during a three-day trial. The throughout proceedings various legal arguments were put including issues of disclosure and section 41 Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 matter. Further, the complainant was cross-examined at length.

The military board returned with a “not guilty” verdict after 38 minutes on both counts.
