Conviction Secured Against Construction Company

Following a five week trial, Deanna Heer, instructed by Jim Meyer of Tuckers Solicitors, secured the conviction of construction company, Clancy Docwra Limited, and their employee, Daniel Walsh, for Health and Safety offences resulting from the death of a construction worker. Clancy Docwra Limited was the principal contractor on a project to expand the DLR track at Pudding Mill Lane, but failed to carry out piling operations safely. The deceased was killed as a result of being struck by the arm of an excavator operated by Daniel Walsh, the Site Supervisor, who failed to ensure the working area was clear of ground workers before engaging the machine’s hydraulic power.

Sentence has been adjourned.
