Catherine Purnell
Catherine defends serious criminal cases including rape, sexual assaults, drug importation and supply and cases involving serious violence and dishonesty. She has also been instructed as junior counsel in murder cases. A highly skilled advocate with an unflappable demeanour, she is noted for her adept handling of vulnerable and difficult witnesses. She is a Grade 3 prosecutor, and a member of the RASSO Panel of prosecutors.
Catherine is instructed to represent professionals facing disciplinary proceedings. She has been instructed several times on behalf of the General Osteopathic Council in Committee proceedings and appeals. Her experience as a criminal advocate enables her to take a thorough and expeditious approach to disciplinary work.
Catherine has been instructed by the Federation Against Copyright Theft and Media Protection Services and has also travelled the UK prosecuting Trade Mark and Trade Descriptions cases for several Local Authorities.
