It is now clear that the Serious Fraud Office and the Office of Fair Trading will be taking an increasingly robust approach to the investigation and prosecution of cartel offences, despite the ravages of the recession. Members of chambers have already advised companies and individuals investigated for such offences.
We also have experience in the representation of companies for breaches of the Competition Act 1998. It is anticipated that such proceedings for horizontal breaches of the Competition Act (cartels, cover pricing etc) are likely to become more widespread.
