Criminal Work

Catherine is regularly instructed in serious criminal cases including rape, sexual assaults, drug importation  and supply and cases involving serious violence and dishonesty.  She was recently instructed to defend a rare allegation of Riot, and is currently defending a case involving historic allegations of Rape and sexual abuse.   Over the last 11 years she has acquired considerable experience and is particularly adept at cross-examining vulnerable and difficult witnesses.

 

Tribunals and Regulatory Crime

Catherine is also instructed to represent professionals facing disciplinary proceedings.  She has also been instructed several times on behalf of the General Osteopathic Council in Committee proceedings and appeals. Her experience as a criminal advocate enables her to take a thorough and expeditious approach to disciplinary work.

Catherine has been instructed by the Federation against Copyright Theft and Media Protection Services and has also travelled the UK prosecuting Trade Mark and Trade Descriptions cases for several Local Authorities.

Catherine has also lectured on regulatory crime to Local Authorities and at the Annual Trading Standards Conference.
