Catherine has an exclusively criminal practice both prosecuting and defending in equal measure. She is on the Attorney General's list of Prosecutors and is instructed on behalf of Revenue and Customs, the Department of Work and Pensions and the Health and Saftey Executive in a large variety of cases. Apart from experience in general crime, Catherine is frequently instructed in fraud cases; she has also appeared in regulatory offences, licensing matters and in the Coroner’s Court.

Catherine also appears before the Royal Pharmaceutical Society covering matters as diverse in scale as interim orders to fitness to practise hearings before the full disciplinary committee.

Recent cases have included:

  • defending junior in a 26 handed indictment alleging "steaming";
  • prosecuting junior in a 12 handed football violence case;
  • prosecuting numerous obtainings by deception by a "businessman" preying on small businesses;
  • Junior Counsel for the only defendant to be acquitted in the largest car ringing conspiracy of its time in England and Wales (Operation Movement)
  • Prosecuting junior in the first ever successful prosecution of a British diplomat for misfeasance in a public office (R v Ladva)
  • Defending junior in a Trident gun crime operation involving the IPCC
