Previous experience includes the defence of accountants, pharmacists and financial advisers. He has successfully acted on behalf of a number of pharmacists who have faced allegations of defrauding the NHS arising out of their contract with the PCT to provide pharmaceutical services. He was instructed as a leading junior for the defence in a Department of Work and Pensions prosecution brought against pharmacists, Company Directors and pharmaceutical sales representatives in relation to the supply of counterfeit medication to the American internet market via the Bahamas. Other recent leading work includes the defence of a bank employee accused of conspiracy to defraud the clearing banks of £2.5 million.
Prosecution experience includes the prosecution of “Rail Track” employees for defrauding the company and the prosecution of bank employees, a non-practising barrister and an accountant accused of defrauding the Bank of Novia Scotia, with a loss of $5 million.
