5pb has been instrumental in shaping criminal law for over 50 years. Among many notable cases, members have acted in The Herald of Free Enterprise, Maxwell, Barings/Leeson, 'Camp Bread Basket’ Iraqi ‘torture’ photo case and Hendy-Freegard (the ‘MI5 agent’ who kidnapped and blackmailed his victims for years).

While maintaining our leadership in general criminal work, we have also developed successful practices in corporate criminal liability, trading standards, disciplinary proceedings, consumer credit, health and safety, environmental law, media law and public inquiries.

Members of Chambers are frequently published and regularly speak at seminars and international conferences. We are Law Society accredited for training purposes, and organise a varied CPD programme that we conduct within clients’ own premises as well as in Chambers and other venues.
